Just finished reading the book “MLM For MOM“ by Amy Starr Allen.

Amy takes us on a tour into the basics of the Network Marketing industry and how it has positively impacted her life, as well as, the other women who have been involved with the industry. The overall focus of this book is to highlight how a stay-at-home mom can have a successful career and be a desirable role model to her children – a mother.

Amy writes about how her career in the industry has improved her finances, provided her flexibility and encouraged her personal growth. She also has a few contributing writers who share their experience with their MLM careers. Cindy Lapp and Ali Alvarez were the most impactful. Of course, all of the writers shared many points that any woman or mother can find easy to relate to.

Having read this book, I feel that my career in the Network Marketing industry has a new spark. It has reminded me why I was so attracted to the business model and why I continue to have a desire to pursue it. Are you someone who tends to take life too seriously? Do you take the time to have fun on a daily basis? Can you honestly say that you’re living your life to the fullest? Seriously, can you?

Playing and having fun is something that starts to slip away from many of us as we enter into our adult years. We get so caught up in trying to ‘get somewhere’ so that someday we can live life to the fullest, that we often forget to stop and smell the roses, to be present, and enjoy RIGHT NOW.

Live life to the fullest RIGHT NOW.

The fact of the matter is that we never know when our life will come to the end of it’s course. It’s a big unknown and much of the time it’s something that’s completely out of our own control. But yet we spend our precious days here on earth spinning our wheels trying to get to a place where the grass is greener, not living our lives to the fullest RIGHT NOW.

The ironic thing about this is that we do take the time to play, to laugh, to let go, and to have fun, all areas of our lives tend to thrive more than ever… it becomes easier to reach our goals, our relationships become richer, and life just feels better.

So, my question to you is, are you taking the time to play on a regular basis? Are you making having fun a priority in your life?

I challenge you to make it a priority and see what happens to your relationships, your business, and all other areas of your life.

Why is it that so many people, when offered an amazing opportunity, completely shut down and run the other direction? We are so incredibly fortunate to live in a world abundant with all kinds of opportunities to make our lives fuller and richer. Why are so many people afraid to even take a look at the possibilities?

Have you noticed this? I certainly have…

Being a complete opportunity seeker myself, I’m ALWAYS open to hear about new opportunities and possibilities that may enrich my life. But, what I’ve noticed over the years, is that many people completely shut down when they even hear the word opportunity.

Why is this?

My belief is that it’s just sheer fear that stops us from being open-minded. Many people (probably the majority) have an inate fear of change or of getting out of their comfort zone. Therefore, when the word opportunity arises it causes discomfort and people become confronted with the idea that they may be offered something which requires getting out of their own way, getting out of their comfort zone.

I get it. But I do have to admit that I find this phenomenon very sad.

You see, we live in a world that has so much to offer…. so many amazing opportunities at our fingertips every day… and it just saddens me to think of all of the people who are so stuck in fear that they are unwilling to even take a look at anything that might make their lives richer, fuller, more exciting, more abundant, or even simply more FUN.

Being a total opportunist, I’m just the opposite. I LOVE looking at and hearing about new opportunities, and I always keep an open mind. As good as my life is most of the time, I know there’s always room for improvement and I’m certainly open to adding things to my plate (or taking things off my plate) in order to enrich my life.

Laced throughout every day of your life are hidden highways of opportunity, invisible crossroads of time, and golden avenues for personal transformation that if only traveled upon would reveal the extraordinary, the sublime, and the unexpected. Yet most… slip by undetected until there’s first a childlike wonder at the ordinary, the routine, and the expected…

This is so exciting…  this coming November, Moms Empowering Moms is taking our first group trip, to Disney World in Orlando, Florida!

If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that I usually sign my emails and blog posts with the term ‘Expect Abundance’. This is a practice of mine… expecting abundance to show up in my life on a daily basis, and always expressing gratitude for everything. I know that every day is a gift, and life is good (even when it’s challenging!).

I also know that if we go through our lives expecting miracles (and abundance), we will start to notice them happening daily.

Last night when I was running in the mountains, I came to a place where, all of a sudden, I was completely surrounded by butterflies. Hundreds of them. I stopped running and they surrounded me and some landed on me. It was truly breathtaking.

This experience was a great reminder of the abundance and the miracles that are all around us, all of the time.

I know that we, as human beings, tend to place false limitations on ourselves. We are actually limitless beings, but we go through our lives acting as if we are limited in so many ways. We have so much potential… we have just as much potential as a bloomimg flower or the ever-growing grass in the summertime, yet we squelch our potential so much of the time and tend to live inside our self-created limitations.

We love to stay in our comfort zones… and, actually, being in this place doesn’t serve us. We are meant to grow and thrive, and we simply cannot do that as long as we remain ‘comfortable’ all of the time.

The only way we can truly thrive and continue to grow and unleash more and more of our potential, is when we continuously let go of the things in our lives that no longer serve us on this journey so that we can make room for what’s next on our exciting path.

What are you holding on to that no longer serves you? In which areas of your life are you hanging out in your comfort zone and literally sitting back and watching the days go by?

I highly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and ‘throwing your hat over the fence’ from time to time. It not only keeps life really exciting, but it allows you to live into your full potential and tap into the abundance that is your birthright. I notice that every single time I take a big risk that involves personal growth and I ‘throw my hat over the wall’, I am always rewarded for it. It always causes my life to become fuller, richer, and more fulfilling.

Sometimes I literally wonder why we are so afraid to grow and take risks when I know, from personal experience, how great life can be when we do.

By now you’ve probably noticed these interesting-looking QR (Quick Response) codes all over the place (hanging on the sides of buildings, on flyers, banners, and business cards). This is the latest trend in technology to help you generate instant business (hence the term Quick Response Codes) using business cards, flyers, and banners.

Having a QR code on your business card will allow the person holding the card to easily scan the card (or flyer or banner) with their Smart Phone and instantly be taken to your website (whatever URL the code has been generated for).

You can also create QR Codes for your contact information, so that when someone scans your card it instantly loads all of your contact information into their phone.

Pretty cool, huh?

I’m writing this based on what’s been coming up over and over again for me this week. This is a message we’ve all heard, but sometimes it’s easy to forget: follow your heart.

We, as humans, are all very different from each other. And we all have core values, and rules, and truths that are unique to each of us as individuals.

And, although we all know this deep down inside, we often forget to acknowledge that our truth exists within us, and we find ourselves seeking answers outside of ourselves.

We go to authority figures and experts, friends and family members. We expect them to be able to tell us what direction we should head or what the best decision is in a certain situation.

And, although they all have our best interest at heart, nobody (and I mean nobody!) knows what is best for you better than you do.

Nobody can possibly be aware of your authentic truth, except for you.

The way to get clear about what your truth is in any situation is to follow your heart. It’s not typically something we can figure out intellectually (in our heads). It’s something that will reveal itself and become perfectly clear when we take the time to get quiet and really listen.

We all have the ability to access what’s authentically true for us. It cannot come from anyone or anything outside of ourselves… it has to come from within us.

And the best advice I can give is that if you’re stuck and you don’t know what the best direction for you to go is in any given situation, just do nothing. Literally do nothing. Your answer (your truth) will reveal itself in due time. I promise.
